History
Since its founding in 1990 as the Red Wing Area Coalition for Transitional Housing, HOPE Coalition has grown significantly in both scope and impact.
In 1995, the organization opened its domestic violence shelter, Haven of Hope, helping individuals and families find safety and rebuild their lives. In 1996, the Kids Count program was launched to support children affected by violence and abuse.
Over the years, HOPE Coalition has expanded its services, including taking over management of the Community Care Fund in 2006, rebranding to HOPE Coalition in 2008, and broadening support services across Goodhue and Wabasha Counties.
In 2018, HOPE Coalition was recognized for its leadership and impact, including receiving a pilot grant to implement Safe Harbor protocols for youth and earning the Charities Review Council’s “Meets Standards” Seal for accountability and ethical practices.
